Last night the babies were playing and we were straightening up after dinner, when we heard a THUMP and then Mirabel let out a loud scream! I ran over and found her on her hands and knees, having apparently fallen and knocked her head on the corner of the bathroom door frame. Blood was all over, and at first I wasn't sure if it was a head wound or from her nose (since she was working her way up, I thought maybe some blood ran up on her face).
I quickly took Mirabel to the kitchen sink, grabbed some paper towels and put pressure on her head. Jessica wiped her down while I held her. Mirabel calmed down almost immediately, and really only was upset that we were having to hold her still. Morriah ran back and forth in distress saying "Mirabel! Hurt! What happened?!". Jess called her mom who was over to our house in under 5mins (very impressive! also, very grateful we have family so close by!). Ginger stayed with MJ while we took ME to the ER, and we were there from about 730pm to 10pm.
Mirabel was a very good patient, considering that it was way past bedtime, she probably had a headache, and strangers were messing with her new wound. In the end, the doctor decided she could do with just glue and no stitches. Glad she's well, but just 4 days from her birthday - the timing could've been better :-P
But life sure doesn't stop for celebrations!
