1st Camping Trip: Siskiyou
Our first camping trip with the girls was a huge success! They (barely) handled the 4+ hr drive to Lake Siskiyou, and we all enjoyed the wonderful cabin that the Littletons generously provided for us. Lots of food, exploring, and squirrels later - we came home happy and exhausted!
ME's 1st words?!
So I think Mirabel produced her first words that are actually tied to objects or directives... Around the 1st of September she started saying "Go" and "Down"...
Before this she had said "dadadadada" and "mamamama" and maybe "dog" and maybe "cat"...
But it was always hard to get her to reliably reproduce the sounds, so we didn't know if she associated any meaning with the sounds she was making.
Lately she is following more complex commands and paying more attention to things we're pointing at or reading. This is all very exciting. Our guess (and limited understanding) is that she's just been focused on her gross motor for a while, and now that she's walking and doing all the things she wants physically - she'll really start to blossom with her language development.
