Mirabel, Morriah, and I were all in the living room playing - when I got up and went into another room to get something... without fail, Morriah followed me in. She looked up at me and I said "Morriah, you left your sister behind. Go find Mirabel. Go be with your sister, Mirabel."
Morriah looked at me, then around for a second - and turned back around and headed out! This completely amazed me because she's always only followed her parents... so this move was unprecedented. As she scooted her little baby booty back out the door, she noticed a plastic bag within her reach that she could mess with. I knew what had caught her attention, so I called out a reminder: "Morriah go be with Mirabel, go play with her!" and AGAIN Morriah rejected the distraction and went on to find her sister!
YAY - my baby understands us, and loves her sister!
... of course, once she caught sight of Mirabel, and realized that she was completely fine and occupied with her own toys - she found some food on the table to spill... (D'oh!)
Later that same evening, we were all sitting around making music on tupperware and various pots and jars. Morriah flipped one large pot over and was just looking inside it. Thinking back to her previous demonstration, I decided to test her again with a suggestion: "Morriah, why don't you put the Jar into the Pot?" Can you put the Jar in the Pot?"
She looked up at me as I spoke, looked down at the jar, then at the pot - and grabbed the jar and immediately put it inside the pot! Up to that point, we've never even seen her put anything into anything else...
What a little genius! She's such a smarty.
Way to impress your Daddy, little girl.
