More Mirabel Moments

11-30-09:

Today was a great day for ME (short for Mirabel Elise)...

She has been bustling on her tummy for a while now, and working really hard on coordinating consistent forward movements for crawling - and this morning she really put it all together to get herself straight after the objects of her desire! In the afternoon she kept up after Morriah and Sorina, which motivated her to crawl all over the Cole's living room.

ME also made a ton of new sounds and vocalizations today, and it was great to hear her being so talkative. She started off in the morning by mimicking her Daddy's lip-smacking sound (usually she just does things of her own accord - so mimicry is a new sign of social development too!).

Lastly, Mirabel also made progress with her ability to squat from a standing position so that she can sit - rather than fall - down.

All wonderful little miracles.

Way to make your Parents proud baby!

Mirabel's Milestones

Around the 17th of November, we first caught a glimpse of our sneaky baby's most recent accomplishment:

We laid Mirabel down to sleep and we left the room. As usual, she cried and rolled and shuffled around her crib for a while (how she works out her pre-sleep energy)... but when we looked back to check on her we saw her STANDING in her crib!

It has been 3 days and we've still not been able to witness how she actually gets to her feet - but without fail, our little Bellarina is getting to a full standing position faster and faster.
----

I was driving home today and making calls to my friends and family (to help me stay awake on the road), and I reserved my call to the house for last because I knew that I would get an answer... Well the timing was perfect because Jessica was playing with the girls, and they have learned that when the phone rings - voices come out. So both babies were excited when their Mommy answered my call and announced that it was Daddy on the line... They were SO excited in fact that Mirabel felt suitably motivated to CRAWL several paces to her Mommy (who reported all of this to me through a choked-up voice). I cheered for her in my car and heard her coo and babble back to me... our little victory moment. I could just hear her pride, even over the phone!

This was the first time Mirabel crawled forward - before today it was just pivoting in a circle, and scooting backwards...

Way to go baby girl!

Crose Twins - MJ takes first steps to Grandma Eva

Best video of this set! Morriah takes her first steps to Grandma! All our efforts to get her to do this with us... all that time invested... and she goes to Grandma first! Well she definitely made everyone's day with that little stunt! Way to go MJ.
