Today we had Mirabel's appointment with the Neurosurgeon. Overall, it was a great appointment and a lot of our questions were answered. We were assured that no immediate action is required other than to keep an eye out for specific symptoms (vomiting, "sunsetting" her eyes, trouble sleeping at night, or general fussiness that is out of the norm). We were also advised to go back in two weeks to check in again because her head circumference is still continuing to increase. If it has increased further by the next appointment, then she will probably need to have the surgery to put the shunt in her brain to drain the excess fluid (for more info about that, see our previous post on
Mirabel's last neurology appointment below).
We are faithful that God is in control and that He has given us the best resources available for meeting Mirabel's needs. If she does need the surgery, it will only benefit her - it will relieve so much pressure from her brain!). If she does not need the surgery, then she will grow in to her head over time. Either way, we are surrendered and hopeful that either way she is going to be okay.
Here's another great picture of our happy girls (just for fun!) . . . Enjoy! : )
